RTW vs Multi-City
Explains the difference between a formal RTW fare and a normal multi-city booking.
RTW vs multi-city
A multi-city booking is simply an itinerary with more than one flight sector. A round-the-world fare is usually a structured fare product with its own geography, direction, stopover, mileage, continent, validity and ticketing logic.
Not every multi-city trip is a RTW trip. Not every RTW-style trip needs a formal RTW fare.
Advisor test
If the traveller wants many international stops and expects flexibility, compare formal RTW products against independently constructed published fares.
Client language
Use: “We can compare a formal RTW fare against a constructed multi-city option and show you the trade-offs.”
